Senior Guys: What to expect and how to Prepare for your Session
Hey there! I’m so excited to work with you to capture this amazing chapter of your life. Senior year is a big deal, and your photos should reflect your personality, passions, and style. This guide is designed to help you prepare and feel confident every step of the way.
The Session Experience
It’s completely normal to feel a little awkward in front of the camera at first—most guys do! But don’t worry, that feeling goes away fast. I'll guide you through every pose and direct you so you never feel lost. We'll capture a mix of looks, from genuine smiles to more serious, confident expressions. By the end of our session, you'll be a pro! The goal is to create images that feel authentic to you and preserve how this moment feels.
Preparing for Your Session
Choosing Your Outfits
Your outfits are key to telling your story, so choose things that make you feel comfortable and confident. Most guys bring about 2-3 outfits for their session.
- Outfit Ideas: A casual look (like a favorite hoodie or a t-shirt and jeans), a slightly dressier option (like a button-down shirt), and a jersey or uniform to represent your school or sport.
- Keep It Simple: Stick to solid colors or simple patterns. Avoid busy prints, large logos, or anything with words that might distract from the real focus: you.
- The Details Matter: Make sure your clothes are ironed and fit well. Don't forget to choose socks and shoes that go with each outfit.
Showcase Your Story
Bring along props that represent your passions and hobbies. If it's a part of who you are, it belongs in your photos! This could be a musical instrument, sports equipment, your car, or anything else that helps tell your unique story.
Grooming
A little bit of prep goes a long way. Schedule a haircut at least a week before your session to give it time to look natural. Get a clean shave a day or two before, and make sure your nails are trimmed.
Final Prep for Your Shoot Day
Take some time to relax and get your head in the game. Make sure you're not rushing to the session—give yourself plenty of time to get ready. Eat a good meal beforehand to keep your energy up!
After the Shoot
Get ready to be amazed! I'll send a few sneak peeks within 48 hours of your session. Your full, final gallery will be delivered via a private online gallery within 2-3 weeks. From there, you'll be able to download your high-resolution images, share them with family and friends, and order prints, wall art, and graduation cards directly from your gallery.
Your photos are going to be amazing. I can’t wait!
